One Little Slip

Like it or love it, it’s my life.

We just missed it, or did it miss us?

Luckly Ernesto the hurricane/tropical storm/topical depression left us south Floridians with some rain and a touch of flooding, but nothing that we couldnt handle.

School was out for two days, which meant I had ample time to do homework, rest and watch the paint dry. The weather hasnt been too inviting for me to go outside, but I’m hoping it will turn around. Friday seems like it could be a decent pool day. Whoop whoop for the long weekend.

The strange part was that the local county mayors seem to have appoligized to its residents, during press conferences held through out the day. Something I felt was ridiculous. It had the potential to reach category 1 status, which is no walk in the park. So just because we had to shut down the airports, schools, local government offices and buisness’ isnt anything to snarl at. I personally think that they made appropriate plans given the information regarding Ernesto and anyone that doesnt think so can look to the storms of the 2005 season to see where being unprepared can lead us.

I hope that for the future storms of the 2006 season that the same amount of care and precautions be taken to insure the safety of the public. I hope this non-storm does not discourage anyone from being prepared, because its far better to be safe then sorry.
