One Little Slip

Like it or love it, it’s my life.

What day is it?

Its hard to believe that we’re already deep into August, seems as though just yesterday I was at home with my family, my how the time has past. I am quite looking forward to starting school again, getting into a routine and having a bit more structure, then what my summer has offered. I’m wondering who I might meet and what kind of professors I will have, what my semester will offer and what kind of flow it will have.

Today I spent most of the day looking up prices for my textbooks and it turns out that its cheaper for me to order them all online, instead of in my campus bookstore. There is something I like about buying books in a store, rather then online, but in order to save $150 I think I’ll pass on the instore experience. I was born with the gift of being able to find a great “sale” and dig for a deal, thanks to my nana. As well as over these past 4 years been taught the skill of finding it “cheaper” on the internet. Both skills combined almost insure that I will never be ripped off.

While on the subject of being ripped off, there is something about the people working in ups and the mail stores in my area, that love to do that very thing. My first experience was being charged over double what was necessary to send odd sized greetings to Canada. Then just the other day being swindled into paying an expedited fare for my UPS package to be sent to Canada. I was told that Canada-standard aka ground shipping, had recently been eliminated, supposidly it wasnt worth while for the company to offer ground anymore. At the time I argued with the man until I was red in the face, but then just went with it because I was going to later be reembursed by the company receiving my package. Today I found out that the man who told me they UPS no longer carried ground shipping to Canada, was just trying to upsell me. So after having spoke with the manager, I have decided to switch my shipping carrier to FedEx. What can brown do for me? How about nothing, because they suck.

So be alert, those post workers arent as innocent as they might seem!!

Back to my original thought of the summer almost being over, here is what the summer has already offered me. Lots of mind expanding yoga, a wonderful visit from my dad, a great trip up to see my family in Canada, time with loved ones, a new baby kitten, a visit from friends, many trips to the beach, mini vacations to Disney, a visit from J’s mom, bonding time with my cats, shopping trips, time to relax, time to get to know myself better and time to enjoy Florida.

For the upcoming sememster of school I wish for myself to find a continued strength, persistance, assertiveness and passion to learn. Much success in my classes and continued success in my life.
